This week I got a hair cut,. only some people liked it. We are writing a essay on America. Jon, Kenny, and I wrote the most. We also are doing division with remainders.
In our class everyone loves Beanie Boos. At recess everyone wants to play with them. People even chase people for them. It is crazy how many people like them. The most popular sports outside are football, soccer, and kickball. I like football the most.
Love,
Grayson.
We had Veterans' Day off!
This week we started division with our multiplication. It is a little hard, but now I am starting to get a little better. We even had to do some division with remainders.
We have only been to school 4 days this week because we had Veterans' Day off. Thank you, Veterans!!! Last week we had Friday off because of conferences. Parents got good news at conferences. We are doing a good job as third graders.
In Word Study we are learning about double consonants. We divide the syllables between the two consonants.
We have been questioning before, during, and after reading. We read a weird book called The Stranger. We think he is Jack Frost.
I do a special thing in the morning called Start Your Engines. It is a little fun. I do exercises. Everyone in our class wants to go, too, but I am the only lucky one.
We watched a play about bullying. They gave us a tiger. We named it Noble for No Bullying. We are going to share it with all the other classes after we have had it a while.
Sincerely,
Martin

Halloween Week
Last Friday we had the Halloween parade and we had cookies with our snack. We did a spitting contest with pumpkin seeds. It was gross and Martin's seed went the furthest, so he won. We all went outside and people took pictures. There were a lot of people and kids. There were a lot of cool costumes. The whole school clapped for everyone in their cool costumes. It was the best day!

The Week of the Farm Museum
Last week we went to the New Hampshire Farm Museum. The farm museum was fun. My favorite part was doing the wool. It was kind of hard for me to do it, but I got use to it. When I got kind of good at it, I was thinking it was fun for me (doing the wool.) After the wool we made butter and we got crackers to eat with it, but I didn't want any of it because I wasn't hungry at all. It was fun at the farm museum. My favorite part was feeding the chickens and rooster. It kind of tickles my hand. After that I think we got to see the cows and goats. Some people got to feed the goats and cows. I kind of liked feeding the goats and chickens because it tickles my hand. I know it tickles, but it's fun kind of doing it. The farm museum was great and fun. Recess was fun, too. I played fun things at recess. I wish I could go there to have fun again.

My Birthday Week
This week I heard from some people that they wanted to go on the Dover walk again. I definitely don't want to! I bet some kids also don't want to either. The walk was exhausting to me. My favorite part was the all the animals, not the bugs, but I do like the Butterflies. Also Colby, Leah, and I found the rock Mrs. Brake told all of us to try to find. I forget what it is called. We should practice lining up and we should be very quiet in the halls because kids in different classroom could be working, reading, and a teacher might be teaching. We should also listen to Mrs. Brake.

Our Dover Walk
On Thursday, October 2, the third graders spent the day walking around Dover. Our Dover walk was amazing. We visited Cocheco Cotton Mill, Woodman Institute Museum, Henry Law Park, and Pinehill Cemetery. At the Woodman Institute there was a 2 headed snake, a four-legged chicken, and a bear with a top hat. The Garrison at the museum had a bowl that you mash corn in, and I got to mash the corn. We walked around Pinehill Cemetery and ate snack there. I thought the bride who didn't marry Henry Law was interesting. We had lunch and played at Henry Law Park. At the mill we saw cotton under the staircase, and some glass cases with things that were used when the cotton mill was used. We walked back to the school. On our way to the room we got a popsicle. We talked about our day while we ate it. We had an awesome day!

The Last Full Week of September
This week we went to the garden. We picked carrots, gourds, and beans. The carrots were so good, but the beans were the BEST! We have started talking about Dover and even used Google Earth. You can find every place and every country and see what it actually looks like. Mrs. Brake also has another app with a globe. There are pictures and information about each picture You read about the picture and they tell you about it

Week of September 15
It seems like everyone in the class has a cold. For a couple of days we've been working hard. We try to get a good night's sleep. That would help. We signed our own class constitution on Constitution Day. We have been really hooked in our books. We also did a fun activity building with marshmallows and spaghetti. We had to work as a team. We work very hard, I bet Mrs. Brake is very proud.
